  • Mumbers 7 — Statistics
  • Time Spans & Dates — New Testament chronology is anchored to Roman history by several fixed external points: the death of Herod the Great (c.4 BC), Pontius Pilate's governorship (AD 26–36), the Gallio inscription (AD 51/52), the death of Herod Agrippa I (AD 44), and Nero's persecution of Christians (AD 64). All New Testament dates carry a typical margin of 1–3 years.
  • Tribe Sizes in Numbers — The book of Numbers records two military censuses of the twelve tribes of Israel. The first (Numbers 1) was taken at Sinai, approximately one year after the Exodus (c.1445 BC), counting men aged twenty and over who were able to serve in the army. The second (Numbers 26) was taken forty years later on the plains of Moab, just before the conquest of Canaan, with the same criteria. Together the two censuses bracket the entire wilderness generation, documenting in numbers the death of one generation and the birth of another.
  • Symbolic & Theological Numbers — This is not numerology (finding secret meanings in arbitrary numbers), but biblical theology: recognising the patterns God himself established and that biblical authors deliberately employed for structural and theological purposes.
